Benatia and Ziyech nominated for best African Player
The CAF (ConfÃ©dÃ©ration Africaine de Football) prefers annually through an election the ' best African Footballer of the year '. This time is also Ajax midfielder Ha Ziyech added to the 30 names counting list. Could he or Juventus-Defender Medhi Benatia the fifth Moroccan player to the prestigious prize.
The announcement of the winner will take place early next calendar year. The previous edition was the Gabonese Pierre Emerick Aubameyang-that home the prize. The last Moroccan international that this title of the CAF got was Mustapha Hadji (ed. edition of 1998), then active for Deportivo La Coruna.
Other known candidates include Ryad M (Leicester City, Algeria), Eric Bailly (Manchester City, Ivory Coast), Islam Slimani (Leicester City, Algeria) and Mohamed Salah (AS Roma, Egypt).
