Dozens of arrests after riots in Morocco (video)

The Moroccan authorities have carried out dozens of arrests after riots broke out last week in Sidi Bibi, near Agadir.

On 12 October there were violent riots between inhabitants of the Souss region and the authorities. Reason for the protests, which degenerated into riots, the demolition of illegally built houses. 26 people were arrested and handed over to the local prison of Ait Melloul. Fourteen people remain stuck while twelve others in the weekend.

Between the fourteen rioters who also seem stuck four human rights activists. They are all accused of disturbing the public order and the destruction of State property. According to Al Akhbar, the Moroccan Association for human rights (AMDH) mixed in the case.

The Association calls on the authorities to examine the ' difficult case to clarify the necessary events and to designate those responsible '. According to the local municipal President of Sidi Bibi AMDH is one of those responsible for the riots.
