Thousands of boat people rescued from Mediterranean Sea

The Coast Guard has 2400 refugees Saturday saved that in boats on the Mediterranean Sea were tossed about.

On Saturday, about twenty rescue operations, according to the Italian coast guard. According to doctors without borders to the rescue twelve people died, of whom four children. In recent months, the route over the Mediterranean Sea become more popular. The refugees cross the sea to North Africa (notably Libya) come to Europe. They often use inflatable boats.
