Teens in Morocco jailed for throwing rocks on Highway

The Court of El Jadida has two minors sentenced to two years imprisonment for throwing stones at car drivers on the highway.

A third suspect is acquitted. Throwing stones at motorists on highways is increasingly common and is obviously life-threatening. The two were found guilty according to Assabah after they were arrested a few weeks ago after complaints from motorists between Azemmour and Hay Soualem. Some complainants were seriously injured by the attacks.

During their defense claimed the suspects that they were playing and that they threw their stones to a metal fence and not to the drivers. The Court believed this is not. A boy of thirteen years was eventually acquitted for lack of evidence. His family didn't like him.
