Last week 17 people killed and injured in road accidents 1481

17 people were killed and 57 others were injured, of which seriously, 1,481 in 1169 road accidents in the week of 16 to 22 January, reports the Directorate-General of the national safety (DGNS) in a statement.

These accidents are mainly due to a lack of control over the vehicle, oversight of pedestrians and drivers, non-compliance with rules of precedence, speeding, unauthorized change of direction, ignoring signs and stop signs, overtaking and driving under the influence, the statement said.With regard to the control and punishing traffic violations registered the security services reporting on violations and suggested 35,431 12,621 filed with the Office of the Attorney General, while 22,810 amicable fines were written out, added the statement.In addition the DGSN points out that 4,727,000 dirham is collected in fines, 6667 documents were seized and 340 vehicles are confiscated.
