Renard tackles rumors: ' No salary increase received and will also not get it '
Hervé Renard is retained as head coach of the Moroccan national football team as we were told earlier this week by Federal President Faouzi Lekjaa. Both the Frenchman and the bond see still sufficient perspective in further cooperation. As is well known, the Atlas Lions guided Renard to the quarter finals, where they only just went down against Egypt. A feat that could be accomplished over the last 13 years but not by the predecessors of the trainer, and even then with much less good quality players (caused by injury).
After this message popped up frequently in the Moroccan media the rumor that Renard despite not reaching the semifinal, contractually agreed upon, however, has received a salary increase. On his appointment was certain that Renard for the continuation of his employment had to reach the semifinals of the African Cup. It heard a scale-up, of 60,000 euros per month to about 80,000, where according to the ex-trainer of Zambia and Côte d'Ivoire not the case.
In a press release on the website of the Football Federation speaks Renard on this incorrect information: ' I can assure you, that despite what is happening in the media the round does, I have received no pay increase. In my contract with the Moroccan Football Federation is not a pay increase if I included the quarter-finals of the tournament get. '
