HCP: slight fall in unemployment rate in Morocco in 2016

According to the high Planning Commission (HCP) dropped the unemployment rate to 9.4% in 2016 in Morocco against 9.7% a year earlier, a very slight decrease so by 0.3 point.

With a drop of 47,000 people, the percentage of unemployed persons slightly decreased between 2015 and 2016, by 1,105,000 1,148,000 to unemployed individuals. HCP brought this out into an information note on the situation of the labour market in 2016.

Between the two periods, unemployment fell by 14.6% to 13.9% in urban areas and increased from 4.1% to 4.2% in rural areas, said HCP, stressing that the most significant decline in unemployment was recorded among people aged between 35 and 44 years are years (-0.7 point) and people who have a diploma (0.4-point).
