Morocco guest of honour at book fair in Paris

Morocco is the guest of honour at the 37th Paris book fair, which will be held from 24 to 27 March in the Porte de Versailles.

For the first time since its inception, the Paris book fair the culture and literature of an Arab country. This event, titled "le Maroc à livre ouvert", aims to promote Moroccan culture in all its forms.

The purpose of this program is to the latest Moroccan literary and intellectual productions to stress-in particular with regard to social and cultural issues.

The event will feature French-speaking Moroccan and Arab authors the possibility to share their thoughts with regard to literary problems and to strengthen their cultural backgrounds.

Several Moroccan writers, academics, Essayists and novelists are taking part in this event. The Moroccan pavilion is designed as a large library with an amphitheatre, meeting rooms and projection areas.

Other activities will be scheduled beyond the book fair, including writing workshops and meetings with Moroccan and French publishers and movie makers.

Moroccan authors will start a tour by a dozen French cities in the beginning of March at the French public to meet, reports Moroccoworldnews.
