Zambia pulls polisario's recognition of self-proclaimed SADR in

Zambia reiterated its decision to the recognition of the self-proclaimed Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic (SADR).

This announcement was made Saturday by the Zambian Foreign Minister Harry K.

"I repeat my statement of 9 July 2016 in Rabat," said Zambia's top diplomat to Morocco's official news agency Maghreb Arabic Press (MAP).

During a visit to Rabat in July last year announced the decision of his country already K with respect to the withdrawal of the recognition of the SADR and the severing of all ties.

In his interview with FOLDER repeated the Foreign Minister that his country "supports the efforts of the United Nations to help the parties to find a lasting solution for the conflict over the Western Sahara".

"Zambia wants to contribute constructively to these efforts by adopting a position which is neutral and open to the parties concerned and supporting an efficient dialogue", he added.

The Zambian Foreign Minister added that his country believes that "Morocco's return to the African Union, the African family an opportunity to push on this issue, which already lasts a long time, in the direction of a peaceful solution in the spirit of African consensus, dialogue and mutual respect ".
