15 killed and injured in road accidents in Morocco last week 1422

As many as 15 people were killed and 59 others were injured, of which serious 1422, in 1080 road accidents during the past week (February 20-28).

This road accidents are mainly due to inattention by pedestrians and drivers, lack of priority, speeding, change of direction without signal use, non-compliance with traffic lights and stop signs, unauthorized change of direction, drunkenness and unlawful crossing of roads, said a statement from the Directorate General of national security (DGSN)

Concerning the monitoring of and the fining of the offences, the DGSN 38,878 recorded violations and suggested 11,903 queried on that at the Office of the public prosecutor's Office. There were also still 26,975 amicable fines collected.

The DGSN declared that the amount received by the fines total 5,593,700 dirham. In addition they batter on 7413 4250 vehicles, documents and finally they took 240 vehicles from circulation.
