Tanger invests 177 million dirham for the prevention of floods

The city of Tangier 177 million dirham will start investing to reduce the risks of flooding and disasters such as in 2000 and 2008.

According to the newspaper is the L'Économiste project, aimed at countering the flooding of a river that flows through the district Aouama, recently approved by the City Council of Tangier.

Aouama is one of the most densely populated districts of Tangier. Besides, the project will also involve the Aouama Azit Mghogha areas, and Al Majd.

The newspaper indicates that the work in 2019 started and spread will be over 36 months.

Among the backers of the project are the Ministry of the Interior, that 50% of the work under the national emergency fund, the Ministry of Water management which contributes to 30% and 20% Amendis, which will help.

As a reminder, the national disaster relief fund was established in 2008 under the Finance Act.
