President of Niger supports accession Morocco in ECOWAS

To a meeting between the Moroccan Foreign Minister, Salaheddine Mezouar, and the president of Niger, Mahamadou Issoufou, stated the president its full support to Morocco's request to join the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS).

The meeting took place in Niamey, Niger where Mezouar was to convey a message of King Mohamed VI with regard to Morocco's request to join the ECOWAS.

Issoufou President expressed his full support for the request, reports folder. "ECOWAS is a natural space for Morocco, given the historical and friendly relations maintained by the realm with the countries in the region. But also with regard to the initiatives and actions of the King and Morocco in favor of this region, "said President Issoufou.

Both men spoke among other things according to Mezouar on climate change and its influence on the continent, sustainable development, desertification, the development of clean energy and the strengthening of trade relations between the countries in the region.

The Nigerien president reiterated his support for the accession of Morocco in ECOWAS and commended the action by King Mohammed VI at for the development in Africa and the development of the region in the particular.

At Morocco's entry at ECOWAS is predicted that the region will greatly benefit in the support of economic programmes and projects. This will, in turn, help to promote programs that support human development in the region.
