Per day 100 babies born with unknown father, according to Moroccan Human Rights Centre

This shocking figure was reported yesterday by the Moroccan Centre for human rights (CMDH), also other worrying data were revealed.

These figures were released yesterday by the CMDH by means of a Declaration on the international day for street children.

According to the Centre means the huge number of children who are born with unknown fathers, that half of them could end up on the street.

The statement pointed out that several factors contribute to increasing the number of street children, including poverty and the failure of the education system.

"Street children are the main source for the rise of crime in our country", the statement warned, adding that these children are prone to be recruited by terrorist groups.

The CDMH did a call to the Government to stand up for families in need. A similar call was also made to NGOs.

"The civil social organizations need to redouble their efforts for projects and practical initiatives to rescue street children", said the CMDH in the call.
