Arrest of 17 students in FES after clash with police (videos)

The police arrested 17 students yesterday after a violent confrontation between the police and a left-wing student group known as ' the Interim Program ', according to the authorities of the Fez-Meknes region.

The clash, which occurred near the El Dher Mehraz faculty in Fez, led to injuries to a number of members of the police force after students threw stones at them. The authorities made no mention about casualties on the side of the students. Whether and how many injuries on that side are cases is currently not clear. Students will probably not go to the hospital for fear to be arrested.

The students held a sit-in outside the Court of appeal in Fez, where a process was under way by other students from the same school that suspects in a murder case, reports Moroccoworldnews.

The 17 arrested students are taken into custody, while police continue the search for other suspects, said the source.
