Russians: propaganda accusation is nonsense

Russia denies that a think tank under the leadership of president Vladimir Putin had developed plans to the American elections.

The Director of the Russian Institute for Strategic Studies (RISS) labelled the accusation Thursday as "wishful thinking" that has nothing to do with the reality.

Sources around the U.S. Government declared Wednesday that the RISS laid the foundations for a Russian attempt to Donald Trump in the White House. The US intelligence services should have confidential documents of the Institute, including proposals for a propaganda campaign.

The Kremlin was not impressed with the accusation. "I know nothing," said a Government spokesman. "I can only say that seven anonymous sources not worth so much as one real one." Russia has always denied that it has tried to influence the U.S. elections.
