Police officers injured in riots in Paris

A French policeman was Monday badly burned and two others were injured in clashes during a 1-may-demonstration in Paris. Protesters threw Molotov cocktails and other explosives, police said.

Television pictures showed a police officer that was burning and streets full of tear gas around the Bastille monument. This 1-may-day came less than a week before the last round of the presidential election where it goes between the social-liberal Emmanuel Macron and Marine Le Pen of the right-wing National Front.

Some trade unionists and left-wing activists seized the day to national solidarity against the National Front. Marine Le Pen expressed its support for the wounded police officers on twitter and said that the incident of a kind of unacceptable behaviour was that they are no longer in the French Street wants to see.
