Moroccan-Spanish operation dismantles terrorist cell affiliated with Daesh

The information provided by their Moroccan colleagues has been made available to the Spanish authorities, has enabled them to avoid new tragedies in Spain.

A terrorist cell is today in Spain and Morocco dismantled simultaneously. On the Spanish side were two members of this cell, 21 and 32 years, arrested in Barcelona and another in Tarragona, while a third was arrested in Tangier, reported the Spanish news agency EFE by means of a statement by the Spanish authorities.

This operation is shared between the Spanish anti-terrorism brigade and the Moroccan intelligence service DGST.

According to the Spanish Ministry of the Interior had the two suspects who are arrested in Spain, in regular contact with other people who were arrested earlier in Spain because they had themselves at Daesh connected and wanted to go fight in Daesh area.

"The members of this cell to provide indoctrination and recruitment for Daesh, not only on a personal level, but also through social networks by videos and photos to share that armed struggle and encourage terrorist attacks", said the Spanish Ministry of Home Affairs.

The three defendants would have stood about to travel to a Syrian area under control of Daesh when they were arrested.
