King Mohammed VI opens new terminal at Fez-Saïss

King Mohammed VI, accompanied by Moulay Rachid, yesterday the new terminal of the Fez-Saïss inaugurated.

The extension of the airport of Fez-Saiss airport included the construction of a new terminal with a total area of 28,000 m2 and the expansion of the parking area for aircraft to four additional aircraft. This expansion will increase the annual capacity of the airport to 2.5 million passengers instead of the current capacity of 500,000 passengers.

The new terminal includes a boarding lounge, duty free shopping area, a lobby, a children's play area and a catering. It also houses offices of the Mohammed V Foundation for Solidarity, an Office for advice and assistance to Moroccans abroad (MRE's), banks and exchange offices, a car park for 800 cars and a drop off area, reports Lefr360.

The inauguration by the King strengthened the international place of this airport for the period 2006-2016 a continuous growth of the passenger traffic has experienced double digit.

The number of passengers who traveled through the airport is more than tripled in less than 10 years of 228,399 passengers in 2006 to 892,974 passengers in 2016, which is higher than the current capacity (500,000 passengers).
