Moroccan Government promises to speed up development projects in Al Hoceima

The head of Government and the President of the Regional Council have announced that it will honour the ongoing requirements of Reef-protests by the socio-economic development projects in the region.

The head of the Government, Saad Eddine El Othmani, had a meeting with the President of the Regional Council (Tanger-Tetouan-Al Hoceima region), Ilyas Ebi, and parliamentary representatives of the region to the demonstrations in the city of Al Hoceima and the surrounding areas to discuss, reports Moroccoworldnews.

"We agreed to the implementation and realization of regional development projects to speed up to meet the needs of the population of the region to comply", El Othmani told after the meeting to the press.

El Othmani, who stated that the aim of the meeting was to establish a dialogue with local representatives, confirmed that the projects will be completed on time.

The head of the Government stated that Al Hoceima now a priority is because there is a "State of emergency" in the region. He promised that in the future similar meetings with local elected officials and members of Parliament from other regions are held to further cohesion between the Executive Branch and regional representatives.

EBI stressed the need to work hand in hand to implement what has been agreed to the social and economic demands of the citizens in Al Hoceima.

"Some projects are launched. Others will be launched soon. We have the involvement of everyone, particularly the citizens of Al Hoceima, "he said.

A local official in Al Hoceima said that the delay in the realization of the development programme costing 6.5 billion dirham ' Al Hoceima Manarat Al Moutawsit ' was discussed during the meeting and added that the Government promised the projects from 2019 to complete.
