Morocco unanimously chosen to African Coordinator within the OPCW

Morocco was unanimously chosen as the Coordinator of the African States and parties on the Convention on the prohibition of chemical weapons, said a statement from the Moroccan Embassy in Netherlands.

The election of Morocco took place at the last meeting of African ambassadors at the Organization for the prohibition of chemical weapons (OPCW). Morocco will this feature for a year.

Several African Ambassadors reminded that the election of Morocco testifies of his dynamic within the OPCW and in its regional group. They also note that Morocco plays an important role in all issues related to disarmament and that the election will strengthen Morocco's dynamism in this area.

This election bears witness to the confidence that the Kingdom enjoy in his African family and the priority Africa gets in Morocco's foreign policy, as well as Morocco's constant commitment to the African interests in all international fora to defend.
