Italy threatens to ban refugees boats

Italy threatens ships of relief organizations that save refugees on the Mediterranean sea anymore.

The country wants other European countries do more to the reception of boat people, so is heard Wednesday from Italian Government circles.

Italy says "already more than ample" to have met its obligations and claims the border in the capacity of childcare facilities. The threat of the ban would cover all boats, with the exception of ships flying Italian flag or that of the EU's Frontex border service.

In the first six months of this year nearly 76,000 are boat people arrived in Italy, a growth of 14 percent from last year.
