Nabil Ayouch first Moroccan who is a member of the Oscars-Committee

The Moroccan filmmaker Ayouch Nabil last week was the first Moroccan who got awarded a lifetime membership for the ' Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences '.

The controversial filmmaker hopes his presence in the Organization will have a positive influence on films selected to receive an Oscar. Nabil Ayouch also announced his optimism that his new role will enhance the status of the Moroccan cinema.

The 48-year-old filmmaker received a widespread success for his 2012 movie "Horses or God" over the suicide attack in 2003 in Casablanca, but its 2015-film "Much Loved" about prostitutes in Casablanca got a lot of criticism by the graphic sex scenes.

Ayouch joins 8,500 members from 57 countries in the Oscars Academy, an organization dedicated to improving the cinema world-wide production, reports Moroccoworldnews.
