Room rejects PVV-resisting Marcouch

Virtually the entire second Room stands behind the nomination of ex-Dutch Labour Party Parliament Member Ahmed Marcouch was elected Mayor of Arnhem.

A broad majority rejected Thursday the appeal by the PVV to Minister Ronald Plasterk (Home Affairs) to not agree to the designation.

Plasterk had already rejected the call Wednesday. According to Marcouch discriminates against the PVV because he feels that PVV MPs not to the police. The party stresses that Marcouch as mayor has the authority over the police with regard to maintaining law and order and aid in the municipality of Arnhem.

Apart from the PVV also agreed Forum for democracy (FVD) for the call. But FVD did that because the party the the appointment of mayors doesn't find anything. The party is for elected mayors.
