Morocco almost ready to adopt new national identification card

The Moroccan Government is in the final stages of launching a new national identification card, which the current identification number on place of birth or residence is based will replace it.

The Government replaces the current identification card system with a new one consisting of ten digits instead of eight, reports Moroccoworldnews.

A Deputy of the Government declared that the change is due to the fact that the current identification number no longer sufficient to recognize citizens as a result of the growth of the population.

This will allow for the expansion of the identification data of every citizen, to the status of the health insurance and the beneficiaries of social programs.
