7 people arrested for theft of copper cables in Casablanca

The police of the precinct Hay El Hassani in Casablanca has seven people arrested for their alleged membership in a criminal gang that specializes in stealing copper cables used in telecommunication networks.

The suspects were wearing vests and helmets and arose as employees of the telecommunication network before the copper cables by cutting, steal and fast to transport with cars that were close to ready, reported a declaration by the Directorate-General of national security (DGSN).

These criminal actions damaged the telecommunications network in different areas of the city of Casablanca, said the same source.

Searches led to the seizure of four cars, a motorcycle, vests and helmets, and stolen copper cables.

The suspects are taken into custody pending further investigation.
