Palestinians against new obstacles Temple Mount
Israel removed Tuesday the metal detectors at the entrance of the shrine to replace them by other "less intrusive technical means" such as cameras. But the Palestinians find the changed security measures still unacceptably.
"We reject all obstacles that prevent the freedom of worship and we ask the return to the situation before July 14," said the Palestinian premier Rami Hamdallah.
The arrival of the metal detectors on 14 July caused unrest and riots among the Palestinian people. The gates stood at the Palestinian side of the Temple Mount. The Temple Mount with the Western Wall and the al-Aqsa Mosque is a holy place for Jews and Muslims.
