International Fireworks festival opens tonight in Scheveningen

It comes again popping in Scheveningen there tonight when the 38th edition of the International Fireworks festival begins. Eight countries present their fireworks shows during four evenings.

The participating countries are Poland, China, Netherlands, Japan, Belgium, France, Spain Portugal and defending champion who last year had the most spectacular show.

The shows can be seen on Friday 11, Saturday 12, Friday 18 and Saturday 19 August. Provide two countries each evening a show: 22.30 hours to 21.45 and to.

The Fireworks goes from a pontoon floating in the air. It is located 275 metres from the beach, at the height of the Kurhaus. The professional jury are watching the fireworks from the terrace of the famous hotel. The judges look for among other things, that the show representative parts of the country.

Around the festival there are all kinds of activities, such as performances at The Pier, promenade and the Kurhaus square. Visitors are advised to travel by public transport to Scheveningen.
