Second of four terror suspects released
El k. had an internet cafe in the northeastern municipality Ripoll, where most members of the terreurcel came from. Investigating magistrate Fernando Andreu had asked to hold him pending further investigation into his possible role in the attacks of last week, whereby in Barcelona and the coastal town of Cambrils fifteen people died.
El K must be passport to the Court each week handing and reporting. The Court ruled that there is not enough evidence to keep him in custody longer.
Another suspect who was apprehended in connection with the attacks, Mohamed a., was released earlier this week under conditions. Two others are still stuck on charges of membership of a terrorist group and murder.
