Mohamed V Airport: Turkish passenger arrested with 2 kilos of cocaine

A Turkish passenger was arrested Saturday on the Mohammed V International Airport in Casablanca for the possession of two kilos of cocaine.

The Turkish passenger arrived on a flight from Sao Paulo (Brazil) and was on its way to the Lebanese capital Beirut, reports a press release from the Directorate General of national security (DGSN). The security service added that the drugs during a routine check were found and were hidden in the suitcases of the passenger.

The suspect was taken into custody and DGSN reported that an investigation will be conducted to determine whether there are possible other international links are on this drug trade.

The operation is carried out within the framework of the efforts of the Moroccan security services to combat cross-border crimes, especially the international drug trade.
