Layla M. is Dutch Oscar entry

The film, directed by Mijke de Jong is Layla M. this year the Dutch submission for the Academy Award for best foreign language film. That has EYE published Tuesday.

Layla m. was from eight submissions chosen by a selection Committee which consisted of delegates of several Dutch movie brancheverenigingen and organizations. The film tells about a girl from Amsterdam-West go bounding about that slowly radicalized because they feel excluded by both the society as her family. The coming of age drama pulled in Dutch cinemas packed houses.

The film, starring Nora el Kalam and Ilias went in september 2016 Addab, premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival. Afterwards it was Layla M. selected for numerous festivals all over the world. During the coming golden Calves Gala is Layla M. one of the leading contenders with four nominations for best film and best screenplay.

At the end of January is clear if Layla M. among the five Oscar nominees. The presentation of the most prestigious film awards in the world will take place on 4th March.
