Dutch Cabinet provides money for Myanmar refugees

The Cabinet gives a half a million euros in emergency aid to Rohingya refugees from Myanmar.

The money is intended to help the more than 150,000 Muslims who have fled to neighbouring Bangladesh.

Also in the province of Rakhine in Myanmar are many Muslims displaced. Aid workers do not have access to this area. "As soon as the situation allows it, we will also see what we can do there," said Lilianne Ploumen Minister (development cooperation).

In the Western Province of Rakhine is about 40 percent Muslim. There are here for many years tensions with the Buddhist majority.
