UN imposes new sanctions on North Korea

The United Nations Security Council imposed new sanctions on Monday to North Korea.

This unanimous decision is a response to the sixth and most heavy nuclear test that the regime of Kim Jong-un on 3 september.

It is the ninth resolution which since 2006 has been adopted unanimously by the UN Security Council on North Korea's nuclear program. China and Russia agreed to a watered down version of a resolution that the United States had submitted.

With the new penalties is an export ban imposed on textile. Textile is the second largest export product of the Asian country. In addition, there is a ban on imports of natural gas and a limitation of the import of crude and processed oil.
