Akhannouch for consultation in Russia

The Moroccan Minister of agriculture and fisheries had yesterday a consultation with the Russian Deputy Prime Minister Arkady Dvorkovich in Saint Petersburg.

The further development of the Moroccan-Russian cooperation was on the agenda of the meeting, where also the Ambassador of Morocco in Russia (Abdelkader Lechheb) at present. The Russian Government told Aziz Akhannouch about their willingness to imports from Morocco, including agricultural and fish products, increase, reports Lefr360.

Russia is subject to an economic embargo by the United States and the European Union after the annexation of Crimea by Russia and the involvement in the rebellion in Eastern Ukraine.

According to a statement issued today by the Moroccan Ministry of agriculture during this important meeting, there was also the opportunity to discuss the projects between the two countries and to materialise. These projects will bring closer the two countries in different sectors and strengthen their cooperation.

The Russian Deputy Prime Minister stressed the importance of Russia for Morocco. Both parties also welcomed the good conditions under which the fisheries agreement between Morocco and Russia has been introduced and the efforts of both sides in the agricultural and fisheries sectors, which are decisive for trade facilitation between the two countries.
