Moroccan Minister of education niqabverbod run in on schools

A ministerial note has been sent to all school principals.

Mohamed Hassad, the Minister for education, has banned the niqab at schools. He believes the niqab interferes with the communication with students and as a result, the achievement of educational goals.

All school directors have just been notified of this new decision by means of a ministerial note, Al Ahdath Al Maghribia.

A teacher at a high school was previously forced to her niqab off after they had received several warnings. Another teacher got the same warning, she refused and has requested to retire.

Mohamed Hassad has previously sent a letter to all the schools in which he requested the ministerial officials to pay particular attention to the clothing aspect according to the educational frameworks.
