King Mohammed VI receives Horst Köhler
King Mohammed VI received yesterday in the Palace in Rabat the new UN Envoy for the Sahara, reports a statement from the Royal Cabinet.Â The new UN Envoy for the Sahara, Horst KÃ¶hler, came Sunday night in Morocco and began officially Monday working visit to the Head Office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and international cooperation in Rabat.
The meeting in the Royal Palace was also attended by Fouad Al El Himma, Advisor to the King, Nasser Bourita, the Moroccan Minister of Foreign Affairs and international cooperation and David Schwake, Special Adviser to Mr KÃ¶hler.
Receive at the end of October the UN Security Council, in accordance with the resolution of april 2017, an interim report on the situation in the region and possible settlement prospects.
Horst KÃ¶hler was next to a former President of the European Bank for reconstruction and development and Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), Federal president of Germany from 2004 to 2010 and has a very strong international and multilateral experience. On 16 August he was nominated as the Personal Envoy of the Secretary General of the United Nations for the ' Western Sahara '. On 8 september he was officially installed for this feature in New York.
