8 million tourists have visited Morocco in first 8 months of 2017

That is an increase of 10.4% over the same period last year.

The number of foreign tourists grew in the month of August with 13.1%, while the arrivals of Moroccans who live abroad (MRE) with 8.1% has increased. This reports the Tourism Observatory has published a report recently about the national tourism statistics in the month of August and the first 8 months of 2017.

The market saw an increase of arrivals in the same period, mainly Germany (+ 14%), Netherlands (+ 10%), Spain (+ 10%), France (+ 8%) and Belgium (+ 8%).

What the emerging tourist market, they maintained their upward trend with an increase of 315% for China, + 43% for Japan, + 41% for South Korea, + 32% for the United States and + 52% for Brazil, reports the Observatory.

The two cities of Marrakech and Agadir tourists recorded in the first eight months of the current year 60% of all total nights in the Kingdom, with an increase of 18% and 12% respectively.

Other tourist destinations in the Kingdom also did well, especially the towns of Ouarzazate, Fez and Tangier, reports Lefr360.
