ONSSA warns of oil in the North of Morocco
The Moroccan food and consumer product safety authority ONSSA warns consumers in the region Tanger-TÃ©touan-Al Hoceima for a "non-compliant oil" sold at different stores and souks.
The oil in question is wrapped in plastic packs of 4.75 liter and 1 liter and is presented under several brands with labels with the following names: ' Radie Oil ', ' Aceite del Rif "and" La Elqueria de Zafra ', said the Regional Director of ONSSA in a press statement.
On the labels of the bottles are images that the type of oil, such as a sunflower, a corn on the cob or an olive branch. "On the label are olive branches, with which one deceives consumers about the exact nature of this product by suggesting that it is an olive oil is," said ONSSA.
ONSSA points out that the comparison of indications on the labelling of the product concerned with the results of official analyses show that the ingredients on the label, far from the exact composition of the product. It is a mixture of olive oil and other oils.
Such practices are strictly prohibited under the rules at the national level.
