Rabat: Hassan tower restored (video)

The restoration of the Hassan tower lasted well over a year.

The Hassan tower in Rabat, a historical jewel with a minaret of an unfinished mosque which dates from the 12th century, has just undergone a makeover after a restoration process was carried out entirely by a Moroccan company, under the supervision of the Ministry of Culture.

The goal of the restoration work, which took more than a year, was the strength of the foundations, the State of the stones and the density of the plates. All structures were strengthened and the four engraved facades with beautiful sculptures restored.

The Tower, built of red sandstone, and the remains of the walls and pillars, together with the modern mausoleum of King Mohammed V in Rabat an important historical and tourist location.
