Moroccan traffickers get five year prison sentence in France

The smugglers transported every four migrants in their car.

Last week two Moroccan traffickers were held by the police at the border town of Montgenèvre with every four migrants in their vehicle. They wanted to transport illegal migrants from Italy to France. The smugglers are themselves living in Spain.

The migrants were immediately sent back to Italy, while the smugglers were arrested and were sentenced by means of instant justice.

The two men were sentenced to up to five years in prison, a fine of 30,000 euros, seizure of vehicles and a permanent ban on French territory.

Since the beginning of the year the Department of Hautes-Alpes (South-East) an increase in attempts by smugglers who smuggle illegal migrants in the country, reports Le360.
