King Mohammed VI sends rushed medical aid to Madagascar

Madagascar has suffered a long pestepidemie.

King Mohammed VI has its high given instructions to urgently to send medical aid to Madagascar to help the epidemic that has hit the country, reports a statement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.

The help consists of 34 tons of medicines, medical devices and protective equipment that meet the standards of the World Health Organization (WHO).

Experts expect the pneumonic plague will spread in Madagascar, there are currently more than 100 people killed by this plague. Left untreated, the disease in almost 100% of cases within a few days be fatal

This medical donation is part of the friendly relations between the Kingdom of Morocco and the Republic of Madagascar; relationships that were strengthened after the visit of King Mohammed VI to Madagascar in november 2016.

The active solidarity of the Kingdom of Morocco with the Republic of Madagascar is one of the concrete manifestations of the constant mobilization and deployment of the Kingdom to the African countries and their peoples, the statement of the Ministry.
