Israeli authorities give permission for illegal construction in East Jerusalem homes

Israeli authorities have granted permission Wednesday for the construction of 176 homes for Jewish settlers in a Palestinian neighborhood in East Jerusalem.

The approval was immediately condemned by the Palestinians because it is a violation of international law.

By building the Jewish quarter Nof Zion will almost three times as large. The district is surrounded by houses of Palestinians near Jabel al-Mukaber.

The Israeli authorities announced in april to build 15,000 houses together in East Jerusalem, which it had incorporated in 1967. They see Jerusalem as their "eternal and indivisible capital".
