Report: How a global surfing destination was Morocco (video)

The American news channel CNN has broadcast a documentary about the growing popularity of surfing in Morocco.

Morocco is a leading destination for local and foreign surfers. The CNN program "Inside the Middle East" underlines the growing popularity of surfing in Morocco.

To Morocco's attraction to surfers to discover, meet the CNN team some Moroccan surfers, including Rami Boukhiam, Ilyas Masrour and Fatima Berrada.

The program follows Boukhiam, currently at 21st place in the World Qualifying series, to his Moroccan favorite surf site, Taghazout, just 23 km from his home town of Agadir.

Boukhiam indicates that foreign surfers choose to come to Morocco because of the perfect ' point break ' waves in the sea of Morocco and because the country much surfing opportunities from the North to the desert in the South.

The CNN team also speaks with Berrada, who in 1994 became the first professional surfing star in Morocco.

CNN made the report during the ' Anfa Place Pro ' surf competition, which took place in Casablanca from 12 to 17 september at Casablanca's Lalla Meryem beach.
