Spanish to wants to prosecute Puigdemont

The Spanish public prosecutor wants Catalan politicians, among whom the ousted regional leader Carles Puigdemont, sue.

They are suspected of rebellion, sedition and abuse of taxpayers ' money, said Attorney General José Manuel Maza Monday in Madrid.

Maza pointed according to the newspaper El País twenty suspects. This includes also the right hand of Puigdemont, Oriol Junqueras. The judge must still approve the charges. It is still unclear whether the suspects also be arrested.

The Spanish Government dismissed Puigdemont and his fellow drivers after the Catalan region Parliament Friday had called for independence. The Catalan regional Executive Board had previously already going on in the improvised independence referendum by October 1. Madrid saw that vote as illegal and recognized the rash does not.
