End of food baskets in Moroccan prisons

There will be an end to ' koffas ' for prisoners in Morocco.

The General delegation for prison administration and Reintegration (DGAPR) has decided the ban on ' koffas ' (food baskets) in all Moroccan prisons.

The local prison Ain Sbaâ 1 was the last institution that introduced the ban in recent weeks, gave the DGAPR in a statement. It is now forbidden from 30 October in all prisons food baskets to carry when visiting the detainees.

One intends to use this measure to prevent drugs and other illegal products in the prisons. It will also facilitate the burden of staff that these baskets have to check, reports Medias24

The food in prisons over the last year to a private company delegated to improve the quality of the meals.
