Rabat-Salé Airport: expansion project scheduled for 2018
To the large capacity on the Rabat-SalÃ© airport against 2024 cater, the national aviation authority ONDA for 2018 an expansion project planned to expand its capacity.Â This is revealed by ONDA in a report on offices and public enterprises in the design of the 2018 budget law.
In the chapter dedicated to projects that are planned next year, notes ONDA on that passenger traffic at this airport in the period from 2011 to 2016 an annual growth rate of 18.6%. This important evolution is expected to continue in the coming years, with an average growth of at least 6.6% by 2030. According to the forecasts of ONDA will the airport expected in 2024 achieved its objective.
I therefore wish to ONDA the project for expansion of airport capacity. In particular, a project to build a new terminal for which last summer a technical study was started. The study was entrusted to the Franco-Italian consortium of Deerns France and Spea Engineering, a subsidiary of the Italian group Atlantia. This study is expected to cost 2.9 million euros.
The new structure would be the capacity of the Rabat-SalÃ© airport should step up to 4 million passengers per year instead of to process 1.5 million passengers, reports Lefr360.
