Tetouan joins UNESCO's Creative Cities Network '

Tetouan is the first Moroccan city adding to this network.

The UNESCO Creative Cities Network (UCCN) was established in 2004. UCCN is an Alliance of 180 cities in 72 countries that creativity and culture as a strategic tool to work on local sustainable development. This is done on the basis of seven creative industries: craftsmanship and folk art, design, film, gastronomy, literature, media art and music.

UNESCO has announced that Tetouan since 31 October, affiliated with UCCN. Tetouan is the first Moroccan city adds to the network.

There are also 8 other African cities that are attached to the network have since 31 October, namely: Cairo (Egypt), Cape Town (South Africa), Durban (South Africa), Ouagadougou (Burkina Faso), Porto-Novo (Benin), Praia (Cape Verde), Sokodé (Togo) and Tunis (Tunisia).
