Former Turkish Prime Minister visiting family of Moroccan who was killed during attempted coup

The former Turkish Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu today brought a surprise visit to the family in Tangiers.

The former Turkish Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu today brought a surprise visit to the family of the 33-year-old Moroccan Macneill, Jawad who in Turkey during the attempted coup on 15 July 2016 was killed in Istanbul. Merroun lived in Turkey with his Turkish wife Amina.

Ahmet Davutoglu came again for its condolences to the family. MacKay died when he responded to the call of the Turkish president Erdogan and then went to the streets, where he was shot dead by the putschists.

On the occasion of this visit to the popular neighbourhood of Beni Baig in Tangier, where the victim's family lives, there were extra security officers in the district.

The former Turkish Prime Minister also visited the cemetery where Jacob Mack is buried.

Turkey had already given him a posthumous tribute to the deceased by the Turkish nationality.
