Jacques Toledano, President of the Museum of Moroccan Judaism, has died
An eminent personality from the Moroccan Jewish community has died. Jacques Toledano, President of the Avis Morocco group, died yesterday in Paris at the age of 79 after a pulmonary embolism. The President of the Moroccan Jewish community, Serges Berdugo, the information confirmed by telephone.
Toledano was next to President of the Museum of Moroccan Judaism, also President of the Jewish community in Meknes. The Moroccan Jewish community has just released a ' big brother ' lost, defined the community members are dead.
Jacques Toledano was regarded as a great leader, he was Executive Chairman of the Moroccan Jewish Cultural Heritage Foundation and became, after the death of Simon Levy, President of the Museum of Moroccan Judaism.
The Museum of Moroccan Judaism in Casablanca in 1997 opened its doors. It is the only Jewish museum in North Africa and the Middle East.
