Suspect arrested for winding-up Dutch in Dominican Republic

At the airport in Medellín (Colombia) is a suspect arrested who was wanted for involvement in the execution of two Dutch in the Dominican Republic. The bodies were found in June in the East of that country in a pit on a sugar cane plantation.

It comes to Amsterdam by 34 and 35 years old, according to the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The bodies are repatriated to Turkey and Morocco, said a spokesman.

According to Colombian media is a 35-year-old Brit the suspect from Liverpool. The authorities suspect him of manslaughter and/or murder, membership of a criminal organisation, drug trafficking and kidnapping. It is not known if there are any other suspects.



The Brit was planning to leave Colombia with a flight to England. The man is made available to the Office of the Attorney General, waiting for the Government of the Dominican Republic for its extradition request.

The public prosecutor's Office in the town of El Seibo in the Dominican Republic said at the time that everything indicates that the murder of the Dutch a reckoning in circles of drug criminals.
