European delegation Israel ' weert '

Israel is planning a European delegation to refuse entry.

According to the newspaper Haaretz the Government used new regulations to refuse people who are involved in anti-Israeli actions, such as a boycott of Israeli products.

The Israeli ministers of Home Affairs and public safety, Arye Dery and Gilad Erdan, have announced that the purpose of the 20-member delegation of MEPs is to have a "Palestinian terrorist" in jail visit. The delegation would like to express support for Palestinian prisoners, including the prominent politician Marwan Barghouti.

The 58-year-old Barghouti was arrested in 2002 by the occupying power and is condemned as terrorists because of murder to life in prison. A year before his arrest the Israelis tried him with a rocket to bring life to. Minister Dery asserts that "this delegation of prominent Europeans journey to Israel to take action against".
